One of our favorite traditions in the early fall is to have a big family camp out. I love camp food! Especially bacon. (That’s a camp food, right?)
As usual, I meal plan 2 weeks at a time. I also try to keep it simple and double up on our favorite foods. We have a freezer full of a half of a hog and a quarter of a beef, which is just wonderful.
Here’s our 2 week meal plan for October.
Breakfast
- cereal
- homemade breakfast bars
- bacon and eggs
- ham and egg cups
- sandwiches (PB&J, lunchmeat, nutella and graham crackers)
- hard boiled eggs
- salads
- leftovers
- peanut butter or cheese and crackers
- yogurt or cheese
- fresh fruits and veggies
- pudding, cookies, chips, pretzels, or some sort of small treat
Supper
- whole roasted chicken with veggies
- shredded (leftover from whole) chicken tacos
- grilled chicken on salad
- beef roast
- hot dogs/brats/metts
- hamburgers and hot dogs
- stir fry made with leftover pork chops
- ham & beans
- Baklava Salmon
- tacos
- chili
- bean burritos
- leftovers
- steak
- Sides will include potatoes, rice, homemade mac & cheese, fresh veggies and salads
Treats and Desserts
- ice cream
- apples with homemade salted caramel dip (be warned…that caramel is addicting!!)
- cookies
- fresh fruit
- rice cakes
- graham crackers
