Frozen Or Thawed Chicken Breasts?
It doesn’t matter!
If I didn’t remember to thaw out the chicken breasts, I just throw them in frozen.
The only difference is that I cook everything on high for an hour or two before turning it down to low for the remainder of the time.
The Cream Cheese Chicken Chili Recipe
Crock Pot Cream Cheese Chicken Chili
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1 can black beans 15 oz
- 2 c salsa
- 1 block cream cheese 8 oz
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion flakes
Optional Toppings
- cheese
- tortilla chips
- chopped avocado
- sour cream
- black olives
Instructions

Place chicken breasts in bottom of crock pot.

Add all ingredients to crock pot.

Cook on low 6-8 hours.

Shred chicken breasts with forks or immersion blender.

Serve with your favorite toppings.
Recipe Notes
You can use frozen chicken breasts in this recipe. If you do, cook on high for an hour before switching to the low setting for the remainder of your time.

I make something very similar, but instead of salsa, I use 2-3 canned chipotles in adobo sauce, first whirred in my handy chopper. I also usually add a chopped bell pepper and I use white beans.
