Crock Pot Ham & Beans
Recipe type: Comfort Food
  • 2 c dried beans
  • water
  • ham: Use as much as you like, but as little as a ham bone works fine.
  • 1 t garlic
  • 1 t onion flakes
  • 2 t Italian seasonings
  1. This is a recipe that you'll need to plan to serve in advance. The night before you should put your dried beans in the Crock Pot. As you pour them in check for less than perfect beans and other non bean items (this generally isn't too big of a problem).
  2. Cover the beans with 7 cups of water, put on your lid, and leave it on the counter. Do not turn on your Crock Pot.
  3. The next morning, pour the water off of your beans. They should have increased in size quite a bit.
  4. Sprinkle your seasonings over the beans.
  5. Lay your ham on top.
  6. Pour 8 cups of water over all (if your pot won't quite hold 8 cups, using a little less won't hurt).
  7. Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 10 hours. Enjoy!
