5 Ways We’ve Saved Money This Week #133
Big, black spiders are a staple of any good set of Halloween decorations. And now I know why.
Every October our home becomes infested with black wolf spiders. It’s common for our area. But it’s not something any of us enjoy!
After killing or shooing away 4 or 5 spiders every day, I’ve had enough.
The plastic variety are all fun and games, but I’m done with these icky creatures! If you’ve got a great solution for spiders, let me know!

There’s a new (to us) vehicle sitting in our driveway right now, which means I’ve official started baby shopping. 😉
With baby number 6 on the way, we’ve been on the hunt for an affordable 8 passenger car. It’s almost like seeing a unicorn to find something that seats 8 on a used car lot!
That means I’m feeling a bit of sweet relief over having this chore behind us.
Although…now we have to sell one of our other cars. So there’s that.

Happy Friday!
Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? Not in the way that you’re ready to see decorations in the store or listen to Christmas music, necessarily. (Can we celebrate at least Halloween first, please??)
I’m talking about mapping out a plan…maybe even buying some gifts!
Frugal folks are planners, so it’s time to start that plan!
If you want some extra help (or motivation!) be sure to join my mini Christmas challenge! Sign up here to get the emails. (Even if you already get emails from Medium Sized Family, this is a brand new list. So if you want the challenge, you have to sign up!)
5 Ways We’ve Saved Money This Week #130
Last week I got to attend my first ever blogging conference (Bloggy Con for the curious!). It was fantastic!
If you’ve ever gone to any sort of conference, you know that you come away from it with this “high” for accomplishing great things. I’m so excited to pour these ideas into the blog!
The reason I was able to attend this conference was because my family could come along, too. It’s held at Cedar Point (which is an amazing amusement park…a must do for roller coaster enthusiasts!). The hotel we stayed at was within easy walking distance of the park. So for 3 days, the family got to ride rides while I learned about blogging.
So after more than 2 years of paying off debt, this year we’ve been able to treat our family to a trip to Indianapolis, a vacation in Washington DC, and a fall trip to Cedar Point.
This is why you fight to get out of debt!! You want your money to be used for the things you love the most. Who wants to keep treading water with bill companies??
Nobody, that’s who.
5 Ways Pregnancy Is Blowing Our Budget
For the past few weeks, I’ve really struggled to write a new 5 Ways We’ve Saved Money This Week post. I finally realized that it’s probably because not only are we not saving a lot of money….I’m actually spending more than usual.
It’s part guilt and part pregnancy brain.
Now, it’s important to me that you don’t take this post as an anti-pregnancy rant. While I’m not a big fan of being pregnant, it’s always worth it in the end. 🙂
