December is a super busy time of year for most of us. So let me help you with that meal plan!
Here you’ll get menu planning tips for all of your breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks for two weeks! I try to stick with things that are in season and on sale this time of year.
2 Week Meal Plan for Late December
Breakfast
- cereal
- Baked Banana Oatmeal Cups
- eggs
- bagels
- Oatmeal Breakfast Bars
Lunch
The kids pack their own lunches. They choose a main item from these simple school lunch ideas, then add a yogurt or cheese, a fruit, and one junk food (assuming we have junk food on hand).
- sandwiches
- hard boiled eggs
- mac & cheese
- chips & salsa
- leftovers (cold pizza or soup in a mug, for instance)
Dinner
We have a main dish with sides of starch (potatoes, rice, noodles), veggies, and sweet tea.
I tend to create a list of ideas, then choose which one fits our day best the night before I serve the meal. I also like to use make ahead recipes whenever I can. (Some of those recipes take just 5 minutes!)
- Christmas dinner (usually ham)
- Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
- tacos x 2
- Instant Pot Honey Garlic Chicken (A great first recipe if you got an Instant Pot for Christmas!)
- Sweet & Sour Pork
- Dump and Bake Aloha Chicken and Rice
- Crock Pot Ham and Beans
- baked chicken breasts
- hamburgers
- Ham and Cheese Sliders
- One Pot Lasagna Soup
- Brinner (breakfast for dinner)
- Pork chops
Snacks & Desserts
- Christmas cookies!
- fruit
- graham crackers
- ice cream
- Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies
Have a very Merry Christmas!
