Meal planning is one of those things that we know can save us a ton of money. But it’s still a dreaded chore for many of us!
Planning for 2 weeks at a time makes this chore something we can do less frequently. If you like, you can look through my whole list of menu plans for ideas.
Keep in mind that there is no reason to totally reinvent the wheel every other week. If you have young kids (and even older kids), they have favorites that they would probably happily eat every other night.
Now, you don’t have to serve the same food every other night. (Obviously.) But why not have a taco Tuesday? Or pizza Friday? The family will love it, and you will love not making a decision over what people will eat.
We’re smack into ball season, so meal plans will be quick and simple for the most part. Lunches need to be portable.

Do you meal plan one week at a time, or in a different way?
Great list. We’re in soccer, wrestling and starting t-ball this week so we’re in the same boat. I made these calzones for portable meals (to take to sports) and our family loves them. http://www.homeecathome.com/the-home-economist/portable-meals-calzones
They are great with sausage or pepperoni, plus you can throw in veggies like sauteed peppers and onions.
Oh, I love that idea! Thanks for sharing!
I’m an adult and I would happily eat pasta every other night xD The Mister, however, isn’t so enthralled with the idea 😛 Meatball sandwiches and pulled chicken sandwiches sound amazing – BBQ anything right now sounds amazing, really (I imagine both of those meals would do well with a BBQ sauce, ha). It’s been ridiculously like summer here the past week (except now we’re back to normal April weather for this week, boo) and I want all of the summer now xD
Our beautiful spring like weather left us. Now that it’s April, we’re getting cold and snow. Go figure!
Healthy and yummy. And practical too. Nice!
Your menu looks good, especially the meatball sandwiches! I see you’re using my favorite kitchen appliance a couple of times too 🙂
You inspired me with your awesome post last week!
Thanks for sharing! I like to make soups too. They are so versatile!
