July was kinda rough. There were moments (hours) (days?) that I was just doggone tired of paying off debt. For a while, I wondered if I could even see it through to the end.
Paying off debt ain’t for the weak, and after some reflection I wrote about it. And as I wrote, I realized that the only way around these problems was to go straight through them.
Happy July! Summer is in full swing, and life is finally calming down a bit. You may have noticed that there was no June check in on our goals. Whoops!
The truth is, life was absolutely crazy in all of May and a good chunk of June. But I did miss the accountability of this post, and I’m really happy to get back to it this month.
I am not a fan of hot dogs. But you wouldn’t know it if you ate here last week. We had corn dogs one night and beanie weenies another. I’m pretty sure kids ate quick hot dogs on their way out the door to a game on other nights. And more than one concession stand dog was consumed.
What can I say? It’s baseball season! This isn’t a way I want to eat long term. But if it keeps us out of the fast food lane, I’m all for it! We made a “quick stop” for some food after a crazy night once this month, and for ONLY fries and drinks we paid $20.
That’s crazy.
This is the report I’ve been wanting to write about for 16 months. I almost can’t believe that the first step of our debt payoff journey is over. It felt like such an impossible task when we set this goal. But with a lot of determination (and accountability from my favorite readers ever), I can say that we’ve reached our goal!!
Guys. I am so excited about this post that I couldn’t wait to get it written!! February was very good to us and we made BIG strides on our debt repayment.
When I juggled our various bank accounts and looked at what we were going to be able to do, I couldn’t wait to call the Hubby and share my excitement with him. It feels like we’ve had a boxing match with one particular credit card for over a year now. It’s tiring! I’m ready to win this battle.
January was a big month. I was so busy blogging every day of the month that I didn’t have time to spend money. That’s not a bad thing!
I think it’s great when you can find frugal hobbies and activities to occupy your time. Not that us parents have a lot of free time, anyway.
