Is it already the end of January? This year is flying by! It’s almost time for a goals update, and I want to make sure I’m taking my beloved baby steps towards the goals I’ve set for 2016 since we’re nearly 1/12th finished with it.
Not that I’m trying to rush the year away. I just don’t want to waste my minutes and wish I’d used them differently.
As always, my lovely readers of accountability, I want to first visit last week’s goals to see how it went.
Home/Barn
Declutter master bedroom- Bathroom project: chose paint color

Make 2 breakfast meals from scratch- Earn 250 Swagbucks – Didn’t make it. It seems like the ways I like to make my “bucks” have been less available lately. Am I the only one seeing fewer Encrave choices?
List 3 things for sale(What a relief to finally start this process!)
Family Goals
One on one time with kids– Thinking of baking cookies, reading books, foosball, board games, etcCelebrate hubby’s birthday!
Blog Goals – I wound up spending my week changing some layout and designs of the blog rather than what I had planned. What do you think of the new look? Do you find it loads ok on your device or computer?
- Get a week ahead in posts
- Learn about setting up an email subscription (Right now I have a weekly RSS feed you can have delivered to your inbox. But I’d like to create a weekly newsletter with extra info and fun stuff.)
- Grow Twitter account to 1,250 followers – Just barely missed this, but it was a lofty goal, so I’m happy with where I am!
Take the 10 Day Blog Makeover Challenge
Personal Goals
- Daily Bible readings/podcasts
- As it turns out, there is a library waiting list for The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, so I am unable to renew it. And now is not a great time for that book for me anyway. So I’m moving on to How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul. Excited about learning more about blogging, and really excited to finally use the Kindle I got for Christmas!
Use my planner to bring a better work/home/life balance.I need to schedule time for blogging, housework, intentional time with the family (on top of going with the flow with them!), and down time for myself.
This looks like a fairly busy week with appointments and school events, so I’m going to try to set realistic goals for that.
Home/Barn
- Choose paint colors for the bathroom and stair walls
- Declutter kids clothes
Family Goals
- One on one time (games, baking, etc.)
Blog Goals

- Grow Twitter account to 1,500

Those are the baby steps I need to take to get my goals going.
How are you doing with your goals or resolutions?
So far as Swagbucks is concerned, I’ve noticed an ebb and flow kind of thing. I believe it was a week and a half ago maybe, every day that I checked, there were no surveys. This past week, every time I checked there were a TON. I dunno what it is with that place. I’m trying to make sure I’m there at least every day to do the daily poll and the NOSO things, just to say I did *something* but am hoping to ramp it up again!
And I love the color changes you’ve done. The blue was nice, it matched well with the background image you have, but the purple and green have that extra “pop” to them which is nice! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your Twitter-knowledge last week, as well! I put that to good use and it has been wonderful! Not nearly the growth you have had, but more than I’ve had pretty much ever!
Hope you have a successful week! 😀
My Twitter started off with a small boost, but over time it has really taken off! I’m happy that it’s working a bit for you.
I’m like you, still trying to plug away at the Swagbucks just to see it moving forward. Hopefully they are trying some new things and it will settle back in soon.
Thanks for giving me your opinion on the looks! I was wondering if I needed a better match for my background picture. I think I’ll play with that a little, too.
Hope you have a great week, too!
Your blog looks so refreshing! Great job. I looked at your twitter and made sure I was following you (I am) you are now at 1288! Wow…I’m going to look at your twitter knowledge now..seems as though I find such helpful hints everywhere. Thanks Vickie
What a compliment! Thanks so much. 🙂
Great lists! Both the Tidying and Blogging books are on my “to-read” lists too! Thanks for sharing on the Homestead Blog Hop!
