A good apple crisp recipe is one of those simple desserts that instantly drums up memories of Grandma’s house in the fall.
For some reason, it gets overlooked as an easy dessert recipe idea, but I don’t even know why.
It takes hardly any effort to make, you probably already have the simple ingredients on hand, and everyone loves it.
If I’m totally honest, I’ve even served it for breakfast! Hey, it has fruit and oats in it. What’s so different from a bowl of oatmeal?
Today is definitely the day to give this apple crisp recipe a try.
Best Apple Crisp Recipe, Hands Down

Obligatory Boring Back Story
This is the part of the recipe post you’ll just scroll right through like it doesn’t exist.
And who can blame you?
I mean, how many stories about picking apples at the orchard can a person read before they want to throw their phone away?
Maybe one, if it’s really interesting.

Sadly, I have no fun stories to tell you about picking apples.
We went, I figured out that picking our own apples cost a lot less than buying bags of them at the store, so I sent the kids back into the orchard for a second round of picking.
(Hot money saving tip??)
It was strangely hot the day we went, but no one threw apples at anyone else, so I considered it a great success.
This story is so boring, I think I’ll $5 to the kid who tells the best joke the next time we go just so I can jazz it up.
Apple Crisp Recipe: The Reason You’re Here
Butter, brown sugar, and oatmeal for the crumbly topping.

Sliced up apples in more sugar (if you want) for the filling.

It’ll bake up like magic. You’ll love it. Everyone will love it. If someone says they don’t love it, give them a suspicious side eye until they say they love it.
(Don’t actually do that, it’s not very Christian.)
