4 Easy Lists So You Can Organize Your Life

4 Easy Lists So You Can Organize Your Life

Keeping up with large family living without forgetting anything can be a challenge. These simple to do lists will keep you running like an Olympian.

My phone beeped with another text and I gave it a quick check.

With four kids playing baseball and softball (plus a preschooler along for the ride), there’s always something to add to my to do list.  A last minute practice, a rained out game, concession stand duty…

This time it was a note that one of our games was rescheduled for this Thursday.

Which was good, I guess.  We needed to get these games in!

But it also meant that we now had to be in four different locations at the same time.  Yikes!

It’s hard to keep track of everyone’s schedule, especially once your kids are school aged.  Everyone has products due, places to be, and it’s never easy to remember to schedule appointments and meetings.

Most Moms can’t keep it all together without some type of system in place.

9 Large Family Mothering Tricks That Calm The Crazy (Fast)

9 Large Family Mothering Tricks That Calm The Crazy (Fast)

Moms of many kids have no choice but to find ways to calm the crazy. Learn how these large family mothering tricks make everything simpler (in a hurry).

Back when I only had two babies (16 months apart), I wasn’t any sort of pro at this whole large family mothering thing.  I was just winging it.

At that stage, aren’t we all?  I mean, you have a baby, the nurses help you out for a couple of days, and then…

they send you home without any grown ups to make sure you’re doing it right.

If you’re lucky, you have family members to lean on.  (Or call every 20 minutes to ask what you should do next.  Not that I’d do anything like that.  Ahem.)

Eventually you’re able to get longer stretches of sleep.  You might have more babies.

And after a while, something clicks.

You learn to let go of unimportant things, and cling tightly to ideas that are proven winners.

Our Happy Big Family Story (Yes, We Know What Causes That)

Our Happy Big Family Story (Yes, We Know What Causes That)

My sophomore year, I walked into my English class, plopped my books on a desk, and took a seat.  I was feeling more confident than I had as a scared freshman, so my first day of school was already off to a better start.

I was wearing my “no strike” t-shirt to display my annoyance at the Major League Baseball strike happening at the time.  When I looked over, I noticed the guy sitting next to me wearing a similar shirt.  Obviously, I had to strike up a conversation.

I thought he was a cool guy.  Clearly he had good taste if he loved the best sport ever created as much as I did.  He liked the fact that I could quote baseball stats like any guy in the class.

Little did I know, that friendship would later develop into a relationship.  That would eventually lead to a marriage and five kids.  And it began our big family story.

Dreaming of A Remarkable Large Family Home That Holds It All

As a Mom of 5 kids, I know how to pinch a penny.  We have a smaller home (with just one bathroom), which in some ways is really nice.  Less to clean and keep up with.  And best of all, we don’t find ourselves house poor.  (Who wants to send all their hard earned money to the mortgage company?)

All of that might be true, but you can bet that I still dream about what it would be like to have a spacious large family home.  And Mama, you sometimes dream about those things, too!

Today let’s explore what some large family homes and put some new ideas into our dream files.  And who knows?  Some of these pictures might even inspire ideas that you can use today.
